About

A senior practice, not an agency.

The person who understands your problem is the person who designs the solution and writes the difficult parts of it. That is the whole proposition, and it is the one thing an agency structure cannot give you.

How we are set up

Nextia Intelligence is a senior engineering team backed by a registered Canadian company. Technical direction and architecture sit with the founder; delivery is carried by engineers who have worked together across multiple systems. We bring in specialists for specific work — mobile, design, infrastructure — rather than keeping a bench we have to feed.

The alternative is the arrangement everybody has experienced, where the senior people appear at the pitch and disappear at the kickoff. We do not run that way, which is also why we will tell you on the first call if a project is not a fit rather than three months in.

We also build and operate our own software products. That is unusual for a consultancy and it changes how we work. When you run your own platform, you cannot hand over an architecture you would not want to maintain — you already know exactly what that costs, because you are paying it somewhere else.

The same applies to how we work with partners. Some of our engagements are direct; others sit behind another firm, where we are the AI and engineering capability and they hold the client relationship. Both work, and we are comfortable being invisible when that is what the arrangement calls for.

How we work

We tell you when not to build

The most valuable output of an assessment is sometimes a recommendation to stop. We would rather lose the build than deliver something you will switch off within a year and remember us for.

Fixed fees where scope is knowable

Assessments and shaping engagements are fixed price. We will not put you on an hourly meter for work whose scope we defined ourselves. Builds are quoted per phase, so there is always a clean stopping point.

Evaluation before features

If you cannot measure whether the system got it right, you cannot improve it, price it or defend it. We build the measurement first, which is slower at the start and much faster afterwards.

Conservative technology choices

Anything we pick, you have to run for years after we are gone. New tools have to earn their place against that standard, not against how interesting they are.

You own everything

Code in your repositories from the first commit, infrastructure in your accounts, documentation written for a team that has never met us. There is no proprietary layer holding you in place.

Plain language, including the bad news

Estimates that might be wrong are described as estimates. Risks are named before they arrive. Nothing in a status update should ever be a surprise.

Who you are actually working with

Technical direction comes from a computer science PhD (INSA Lyon) with more than fifteen years building and leading AI systems across finance, industrial and research domains — including senior AI leadership roles, delivery of production LLM, RAG and agentic systems, and building AI teams from zero.

The same background covers the unglamorous half: MLOps, cloud architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD and the governance work that decides whether an AI system is allowed to touch anything important. Certifications include PMP, Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate, AI Transformation Leader and AI Governance Professional (AIGP).

Alongside the delivery work, this practice has mentored more than 2,000 professionals — from early-career engineers to C-suite leaders — through leading learning platforms. That matters less as a credential than as a working skill: explaining a system clearly to your board is the same skill as explaining it to a graduate engineer, and both come up in every engagement.

We do not put a founder biography and headshot on this site. The proof we would rather be judged on is the software: two products you can sign up for and use today, and clients who will take a reference call.

Described by capability rather than by CV, deliberately.

How engagements are priced

Assessments and shaping work are fixed fee, agreed before anything starts. Builds are quoted per phase against an agreed scope, so there is a clean stopping point at the end of each one. Retainers run monthly. Consulting and build pricing is scoped to the complexity of the problem rather than published as a rate card — you get a real number on the first call. Individual sessions are fixed and published: $450 CAD for a personalised AI transition roadmap, $350 CAD for AI interview readiness.

The legal entity

Nextia Intelligence is operated by 1496096 Canada Inc., a Canadian corporation. Contracts, invoices and data-processing agreements are with that entity. We work under NDA as a matter of course, and can sign yours rather than insisting on ours.

Tell us what is actually broken.

Thirty minutes, no deck, no pitch. You describe the problem; we tell you honestly whether AI is the right tool, roughly what it would take, and whether we are the right people. If we are not, we will say so.

We reply within one business day. English or French.
